Where does the 7 come from in Windows 7?

The question arise that why the next operating system of the Windows will be called Windows 7 as usual previous operating system to be called as xp vista then why this as windows 7 ?.It is highly discussed among the technical Experts. The last days I saw several posts at various sites like Cnet or DownloadSquad which all post by Microsoft’s own Mike Nash who tried to explain why Microsoft is calling the next Windows operating system Windows 7.Many theories comes out on various sites about the 7 in the name. Some suggested that it was the version number of the code used while the others said it was because of the beauty of the figure. All of these speculations or imagination were far away from the truth. The truth which is much simpler the the expected one . If any computer expert has noticed it there is not a much grasp out there to find out why windows 7 is called to be as 7 . Look at the table and find out how Microsoft came up with the 7.
  1. Windows 1 (Windows 1)
  2. Windows 2 (Windows 2)
  3. Windows 3 (Windows 3, Windows NT)
  4. Windows 4 (Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows ME)
  5. Windows 5 (Windows 2000, Windows XP)
  6. Windows 6 (Windows Vista)
  7. Windows 7 (Windows 7)
Well its is coming the very “next logical significant release and 7th in the family of Windows releases” and that is how the 7 was picked for the new operating system
