Is Windows 7 the Best Microsoft Operating System?

vista dvd box

Windows 7 is the newest Operating System that is being offered by Microsoft. In checking out this new operating system you should be aware that it is not actually a full release as of yet. In other words you can download, for free, the release candidate of the software, but you cannot buy it in the stores. This also means that it is considered beta software, something that is not fully tested. By October of 2009 the full release will be available assuming nothing changes between now and then.

Disadvantage of old Windows Operating Systems
The problem with all Windows Operating Systems is they all want more resources to run, that are more simply stated that they prefer to have a lot more memory and hard drive space. That trend however is reversed with the Windows 7 Release Candidate(RC). It is an OS that has been designed to meet the needs of the users and is designed in response to all the feedback of the common users. In other words it is designed with people, not computer techs, in mind.

Update after update until the creation of Windows 7
Windows XP has been around for quite a while and due to all the updates that it has, it is now the most stable of all the current Windows operating systems. Vista has been out for some time and with some of its updates it comes a close second. The facts are that Microsoft is working to make a more effective operating system all the time. The fact that they have had to go through update after update has prompted the creation of Windows 7. It is designed to use fewer resources and therefore be more responsive than any other Operating system before. No more does WWW have to stand for World Wide Wait with Windows 7.

Enhancements of Windows 7
There are a number of enhancements over the Vista design that make it even easier to use than other operating systems have been. It has an easy to use toolbar at the bottom of the screen and has made strides in protecting programs from each other. No more will one program totally crash your computer requiring multiple restarts. Such was the legacy of all Windows Operating Systems, Windows XP being notorious for having to be restarted over and over.

Should I try the Release Candidate of Windows 7?
If you are having no issues with your current Operating System then you might be better off not trying this beta software. While the advantages it offers are vast, if you have a stable and working computer, you might as well stay with what you are familiar with until the full release is out. If, on the other hand, you are dissatisfied with your current OS, and would like to have something better, then you would do well to download and run the new Windows 7.

How to work with Internet Explorer 8?
Either way you might want to work with Internet Explorer 8. It is an updated version of IE that is much more stable. When it runs into a bad screen it does not crash completely, it can simply close the tab that has the bad page and keep running,. This can be a great time saver as you do not have to spend time re-loading your browser over and over. It is also far safer than any version of IE to date and you do not have to get Window 7 to get IE 8. Getting both is however even safer for those that constantly are in the Internet browsing in waters that often come filled with sharks. IE8 is like the shark cage, you can see the sharks but they do not affect you.

Advantages of Internet marketing

Internet marketing is relatively inexpensive when compared to the ratio of cost against the reach of the target audience. Companies can reach a wide audience for a small fraction of traditional advertising budgets. The nature of the medium allows consumers to research and purchase products and services at their own convenience. Therefore, businesses have the advantage of appealing to consumers in a medium that can bring results quickly. The strategy and overall effectiveness of marketing campaigns depend on business goals and cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.

Internet marketers also have the advantage of measuring statistics easily and inexpensively. Nearly all aspects of an Internet marketing campaign can be traced, measured, and tested. The advertisers can use a variety of methods: pay per impression, pay per click, pay per play, or pay per action. Therefore, marketers can determine which messages or offerings are more appealing to the audience. The results of campaigns can be measured and tracked immediately because online marketing initiatives usually require users to click on an advertisement, visit a website, and perform a targeted action. Such measurement cannot be achieved through billboard advertising, where an individual will at best be interested, then decide to obtain more information at a later time.

Internet marketing as of 2007 is growing faster than other types of media.[citation needed] Because exposure, response, and overall efficiency of Internet media are easier to track than traditional off-line media—through the use of web analytics for instance—Internet marketing can offer a greater sense of accountability for advertisers. Marketers and their clients are becoming aware of the need to measure the collaborative effects of marketing (i.e., how the Internet affects in-store sales) rather than siloing each advertising medium. The effects of multichannel marketing can be difficult to determine, but are an important part of ascertaining the value of media campaigns.

Internet marketing

Marketing!!!
Most of the peoples thoughts marketing means a person who is with his bag pant shirt with tie and will go door to door and sell the product but there is a different marketing like internet marketing.

Internet marketing, also referred to as i-marketing, web marketing, online marketing, or eMarketing, is the marketing of products or services over the Internet.

The Internet has brought many unique benefits to marketing, one of which being lower costs for the distribution of information and media to a global audience. The interactive nature of Internet marketing, both in terms of providing instant response and eliciting responses, is a unique quality of the medium. Internet marketing is sometimes considered to have a broader scope because it not only refers to digital media such as the Internet, e-mail, and wireless media; however, Internet marketing also includes management of digital customer data and electronic customer relationship management (ECRM) systems.

Internet marketing ties together creative and technical aspects of the Internet, including design, development, advertising, and sale.

Internet marketing also refers to the placement of media along different stages of the customer engagement cycle through search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), banner ads on specific websites, e-mail marketing, and Web 2.0 strategies. In 2008 The New York Times working with comScore published an initial estimate to quantify the user data collected by large Internet-based companies. Counting four types of interactions with company websites in addition to the hits from advertisements served from advertising networks, the authors found the potential for collecting data upward of 2,500 times on average per user per month.

  2. New audio DSP
  3. Longer music playback time (14 hrs) and video playback time (6 hrs)
  4. Windows Media WMV9 video codec added
  5. Hardware acceleration for video codecs for H.264 and WMV
  6. Mobile TV DVB-H 1.0 receiver built in

  8. linu v88.0.12.0
  9. The Java ME engine is upgraded from MIDP 2.0 to MIDP 2.1
  10. User data is preserved when upgrading firmware (this feature is also present on the N95-2 as v21 installs UDP base files)
  11. Open C/C++ support
  12. New QuickOffice application opens all types of Microsoft Office files.
  13. New version of Nokia Video Centre (show & edit videos)
  14. New release of Nokia Experience software
  15. Micro 2.0 Hi-Speed USB (write 3 Mbit/s, read 4.1 Mbit/s - N95 8GB use full-speed USB)
  16. MicroSD memory card slot (as in original N95, while N95 8GB has no card slot)
  17. RSS 2.1 Reader
  18. FM radio upgraded with RDS
  19. N96 is a dual-band HSDPA (900 and 2100MHz, while N95 was a single band 2100MHz)
  20. No need to open the slide for optimal GPS reception
  21. Nokia N96 has VGA front camera (N95 8G has CIF)
  22. Video Flash light
  23. Upgraded Bluetooth stereo audio
  24. FOTA (Firmware Over the Air)
  25. OMA E-mail Notification v1.0
  26. OMA Device Management v1.2
  27. OpenGL ES 1.1 plugin
  28. Transfer Mode (MSC 11)
  29. SPP Bluetooth profiles

Disadvantages:
  1. CPU: N96 has dual ARM9 264MHz with no floating point instructions (N95 has dual ARM11 332Mhz with vector floating point)
  2. N96 has 8x image digital zoom and 4x video digital zoom (while N95 has 20x digital zoom and 8x video digital zoom)
  3. Same battery as original N95 (950 mAh), but the N96 reportedly has a much better battery life using the same battery (Nokia N95 8GB has 1200 mAh)
  4. No Hardware 3D graphics accelerator for N96
  5. No infrared port
  6. N95 classic has lens cover and much more qualitative shutter (N95 8G/N96 don't have this feature)
  7. No manually selected MMS messaging mode. If you write a long text message it will automatically select the MMS mode which could stop the recipient from receiving the message if they do not have MMS set up on their handset. (A Nokia USA employee stated that there is an update in the works to fix this very soon. It's assumed that this automatic selection of MMS mode is due to Nokia's Smart Connectivity)
  8. VoIP 2.1 support for WLAN and Cellular. However, the built-in VoIP client from N95 which allowed the end-user to make internet calls directly without installing any additional software has been removed from N96. The VoIP API which can be used by software developers in their applications, can still be used though. Of course third party VoIP applications are often neither as reliable, nor as flexible as the built-in one.
  9. The pencil button that allows you to mark/unmark items and highlight text is not included. But this action can still be done however, by pressing and holding down the # key'.
